Our Story
Davies Bakeries started with a small bakers shop along the Old Kent Road back in 1977.
I was 19 and was happily baking for my shop. Then a few cafes asked if I could deliver to them, so I purchased an old estate car and started a few deliveries. More requests for delivery so bought a small van, more requests, bigger van, and so it went on. Eventually my row of shops was demolished and I moved into a warehouse baking and delivering. People could feel my passion for bread in my products, plus the fact, no matter what, they would get their delivery, baked fresh and on time. We soon grew into one of the leading bread suppliers in London delivering to cafes and sandwich bars, pub chains and building sites. Moving on I purchased a bakery in Southwark Park Road called Petes and totally transformed it into the Bakehouse Bermondsey SE16.
